Ukrainians most often name Taras Shevchenko as the greatest Ukrainian of all time—60% of those surveyed chose him.
Lesya Ukrainka, Bohdan Khmelnytsky, Stepan Bandera, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy also made the list.
According to a poll by the “Rating” group, 28.4% of respondents named Lesya Ukrainka, 15.9% named Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 11% named Stepan Bandera, and 10.4% named Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Sociologists also noted an increase in Ukrainians’ positive attitudes toward Stepan Bandera, Simon Petliura, and Ivan Mazepa in recent years.
