Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that investment and trade agreements totaling €1 billion are being prepared. According to him, the agreements were drafted as part of the economic segment of the Carpathian Summit.

“Today, during the second part of the Carpathian Initiative—the economic segment of this summit—there will be significant financial and investment agreements. We will have about 550 business representatives from all our countries. Investment and trade agreements totaling 1 billion euros have been prepared,” Zelenskyy said at the CARPATHIAN 8 SUMMIT on Friday.

According to him, nearly 100 business projects from the Carpathian region, totaling nearly EUR40 billion, are being presented at the summit.

“We expect that in the coming years, economic growth in the Carpathian region could be twice as fast as the European Union average,” the president noted.

He also announced efforts to develop a special Carpathian macro-strategy at the EU level, which will make it possible to attract more European funding to support the countries and communities of the Carpathian region.

In addition, the president mentioned several projects aimed at strengthening energy security.

“We will definitely attract additional resources and investment. These are not plans for the future—they are actions we must take today,” Zelenskyy said.
