Zelenskyy announced the launch of the FREYJA anti-ballistic defense project
During a speech marking Ukrainian Statehood Day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the launch of the FREYJA project, which aims to create the first joint anti-ballistic shield for Ukraine and Europe. The Ukrainian company Fire Point and leading European partners have already been brought on board to implement this large-scale defense initiative.
The head of state emphasized that within the framework of this historic project, Ukraine is not merely an observer but one of the leaders who has united the efforts of the country with those of Europe’s strongest defense companies. Our country will do everything possible to maximize European defense capabilities and ensure reliable air defense.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that pooling the anti-ballistic capabilities of European countries is a key step for the security of free nations. The creation of such a system will protect the civilian population and ensure that the lives of citizens of Ukraine and other European countries no longer depend on the possession of ballistic weapons by dictators.
