Zelenskyy said he has not yet made a decision regarding Fedorov's future in the government
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he has not yet made a decision regarding Mykhailo Fedorov’s future position in the new government, specifically his possible appointment as defense minister.
According to Zelenskyy, he will meet with Fedorov, as well as with the leadership of the Armed Forces, ahead of the evening session of the “Servant of the People” parliamentary faction.
The president noted that among the key issues are improving coordination between the army and the Ministry of Defense, resolving problems related to the activities of territorial recruitment centers, and strengthening the defense of Ukrainian airspace.
“The second priority is dialogue between the army and the Ministry of Defense, resolving issues with the territorial recruitment centers, and closing the airspace. And regarding this, I will also be holding talks today with the leadership of our army, as well as with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine. All of this will take place before the parliamentary faction meeting,” the president said.
In addition, Zelenskyy announced that before the faction meeting, he will hear proposals from Prime Minister nominee Serhiy Koretskyi regarding candidates for the new Cabinet of Ministers.
The head of state made this statement while answering questions from journalists, according to RBC-Ukraine.
As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada may face difficulties in appointing Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov to the post of defense minister.
