Zelenskyy dismissed six more Ukrainian ambassadors and the representative to UNESCO
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees dismissing six more Ukrainian ambassadors, as well as Ukraine’s representative to UNESCO. The personnel changes affected diplomatic missions in Singapore, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Austria, Tunisia, and Libya.
The decision was made as part of the renewal of Ukraine’s diplomatic corps.
By Decree No. 698/2026, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Volodymyr Khomanets from his posts as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Tunisia and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the State of Libya.
By Decree No. 699/2026, Vasyl Khymynets was dismissed from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Austria.
Valeriy Yevdokimov was dismissed from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Tajikistan by Decree No. 700/2026.
Valeriy Zhovtenko was dismissed from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kyrgyz Republic by Decree No. 701/2026.
By Decree No. 702/2026, the President dismissed Kateryna Zelenko from her post as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Singapore and from her concurrent post as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Brunei Darussalam.
By Decree No. 697/2026, Zelenskyy relieved Vadym Omelchenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the French Republic, of his concurrent post as Permanent Representative of Ukraine to UNESCO. By Decree No. 703/2026, he appointed Viktoria Lyalina-Boiko to this position.
The relevant decrees No. 697/2026–702/2026 have been published on the website of the President of Ukraine.
Zelenskyy announced the launch of the Carpathian Initiative involving eight countries.
Earlier, we reported that Stefanyishyna denied rumors of her resignation as ambassador to the United States.
At the same time, the media continue to discuss potential candidates for her position, including Rustem Umerov and Yulia Svyrydenko. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally confirmed that he had offered Yulia Svyrydenko the position of Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States. However, she declined the offer.
