The Ukrainian Armed Forces have received a tow truck capable of evacuating equipment weighing up to 30 metric tons
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has certified and authorized the domestic INGUAR-4 armored recovery vehicle for service with the Defense Forces.
The new wheeled recovery and evacuation vehicle (BREM) is designed for the rapid evacuation of various armored vehicles weighing up to 30 metric tons from the battlefield, including models such as the Inguar-3, Roshel Senator, Kirpi, “Kozak,” “Novator,” “Gyurza,” International MaxxPro, and others.
The vehicle is based on components and assemblies from the INGUAR-3 armored vehicle, but features a reinforced frame, an additional drive axle (6x6 wheel configuration), a powerful winch, and a hydraulic system for lifting and transporting. Thanks to its high mobility and design features, the INGUAR-4 exceeds the top speed of some 8x8 wheeled recovery vehicles, such as the BREM-3BR, BREM-4M, and the Canadian LAV Super Bison.
Compared to tracked recovery vehicles, the wheeled recovery vehicle offers significant advantages: higher road speed, greater range, no need for special transport trailers, as well as lower-cost and simpler maintenance. Crew protection meets the STANAG 4569 Level 3 standard thanks to combined armor made of Armox steel and aluminum. The vehicle is also equipped with mine-resistant seats and an automatic fire suppression system, and approximately 60% of its chassis and suspension components are manufactured directly in Ukraine. The first INGUAR-4 units are already being deployed on the front lines.
