Shares of Russian airlines plummeted after Zelenskyy's warning about dangers in Russian airspace

The stock prices of Russian airlines, particularly Aeroflot, plummeted following a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The head of state officially warned airlines, insurance companies, and international partners of a significant increase in the threat to Russian airspace due to the widespread use of Ukrainian drones.

According to stock market charts, Aeroflot’s share price plummeted from over 32.1 rubles to 30.6 rubles per share.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned airlines, insurers, and other companies that use Russian airspace about the increasing danger of flying over Russia. According to him, due to the war and the activity of Ukrainian drones, Russian airspace will effectively become unsuitable for safe civilian flights.

Russia continues to strike Ukrainian ports, civilian vessels, and shipping routes in the Black Sea. According to Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Mariana Betsa, Russian forces attacked more than 50 vessels in the summer of 2026 alone, and nearly 30 people were killed.
