Belgorod residents advised to monitor drone attacks on their own
Residents of Russia’s Belgorod region have been advised to independently track drone attacks following the blocking of mobile internet and Telegram.
According to Russian pro-government media, authorities have предложили a new way for citizens to receive information about Ukrainian drone strikes.
People are now instructed to use monitoring channels in the national messaging app Max and manually follow alerts and the trajectory of attacks, as push notifications in the state-run messenger are not functioning.
Regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov described the system as “inconvenient,” noting that drone raids can last for a long time. However, he urged residents to rely on this method, saying that “your life and the lives of your loved ones depend on it.”
Earlier, Gladkov explained that the region’s alert system had been based on push notifications, but these cannot operate through Max due to restrictions related to the use of foreign software.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine, a Russian drone struck an electric train in the Kharkiv region, leaving one person dead and others injured.
Russian forces also carried out more than 20 attacks on the Nikopol and Synelnykove districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region, damaging civilian infrastructure and injuring an elderly woman.
In addition, Russia launched another combined attack on Ukraine using strike drones and cruise missiles, with air raid alerts declared in most regions.
