British intelligence reported that Russia has canceled the Navy Day parade for the second time

British intelligence reported on July 2 that Russia will likely not hold its traditional naval parade on Navy Day for the second year in a row.

The report notes that Russian Navy Day is celebrated in Russia on the last weekend of July and is a national holiday. Since 2017, the celebrations have been accompanied by a naval parade near St. Petersburg and have included an inspection of the ships by the Kremlin leader; ships from other Russian fleets have participated in the parade.

In 2024, the naval parade was scaled back, and in 2025, it was canceled altogether—almost certainly for security reasons. This year, Russia’s main naval parade is highly likely to be canceled again for security reasons,” the intelligence report notes.

On the night of July 1, Russian troops carried out a massive attack with strike drones on the Dnipropetrovsk region.

As a reminder, on the evening of June 30, Russian forces attacked an electric locomotive in the Dnipropetrovsk region with a drone. There were no casualties, as the locomotive crew was warned of the danger in time, and the workers managed to take cover.

Ukrainian drones struck eight of the ten largest Russian oil refineries by processing volume, with some facilities being hit multiple times.
