Budanov urged military personnel not to lose their composure amid the events surrounding the 155th Brigade
Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, responded to the high-profile events surrounding the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade, calling on Ukrainian troops to maintain self-control and discipline.
According to Budanov, the strength of the Ukrainian military lies not only in its weapons but also in its ability to control them. He emphasized that discipline, inner dignity, and adherence to the rules distinguish Ukrainian defenders from Russian occupiers.
He also stated that the Russian occupiers came to Ukraine because they were “allowed to do anything,” whereas the Ukrainian army operates within the bounds of the law and moral principles.
“Discipline is not an order from above. It is a soldier’s inner dignity. It is precisely this that distinguishes an army from an armed mob, and a defender from an invader. The enemy came because they were allowed to do anything. We have held our ground because we maintain self-control even in the most difficult situations,” he noted.
He emphasized that Ukrainian military personnel must act within the bounds of the law and moral principles.
“Our strength serves the people. It protects, and therefore remains within bounds. The rules are the same for everyone, and that is precisely what makes us stronger than the enemy, who has no rules,” Budanov emphasized.
He wrote about this on Facebook on July 14.
