Some documents for settling the war with Russia are already ready — Zelenskyy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that a number of documents aimed at resolving the Russian-Ukrainian war have already been prepared.
The head of state said this during his evening address.
On Thursday, December 25, Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation with representatives of the U.S. presidential team — Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Following the talks, he stated that there were “good ideas for a lasting peace.”
After that, the president noted that the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, will also hold talks with the American team in the near future.
“It is important if we manage to organize what we talked about today,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
According to him, work on the documents is already at the final stage.
“I see that they are almost completely ready — some documents are already finished. Of course, sensitive issues still require work. But together with the American team, we understand how to ensure all of this,” the Ukrainian leader concluded.
In addition, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that starting in January 2026, a new phase of work on security guarantees for Ukraine will begin in Paris.
It was also recalled that Russia has put forward counter-demands to the peace plan agreed upon by the United States and Ukraine.
