Shopping centers close in Belgorod due to massive blackout
In Belgorod, shopping centers have begun shutting down due to large-scale power outages that occurred following a strike on energy infrastructure. Mobile communication towers are also being disconnected en masse.
This is reported by Russian propaganda media.
According to local media, on January 12 at least three major shopping malls announced a temporary suspension of operations. At the RIO mall, only the Auchan hypermarket and a pharmacy will remain open. At City Mall, most shops and cafés were closed for technical reasons, while MegaGrinn shopping center has almost completely halted operations due to a lack of electricity.
It is worth recalling that Russia’s Belgorod region has been without power for the third consecutive day following strikes on energy facilities.
On New Year’s Eve, drones attacked an oil storage facility and a refinery in Russia, causing fires.
