Czech Foreign Minister urges Russia to make concessions in talks with Ukraine

Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macek stated that Ukraine is demonstrating a willingness to engage in peace negotiations, and it is now Russia’s turn to make concessions.

He made the remarks during a joint briefing with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybyha in Kyiv, reports Ukrinform.

The Czech diplomat said that his Ukrainian counterpart provided detailed information on President Volodymyr Zelensky’s negotiations with the United States.

Macek emphasised that Ukraine has a strong interest in establishing peace in the region.

“I see that Ukraine is ready to make concessions in negotiations, so now it is time for concessions on the Russian side,” said the Czech Foreign Minister.

He also expressed hope that in the near future, it will be possible to visit Ukraine not only by train but also by plane, as the country becomes safe.
