New armored "Kozak" vehicles have arrived at the 110th Brigade
The 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General-Horunzhy Mark Bezruchko received a new batch of “Kozak” armored vehicles. The brigade released a video of the vehicles and noted that they are already ready to be deployed on combat missions. The armored vehicles are designed to help troops transport personnel and equipment more safely in situations where speed and protection are essential.
The 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade displayed several new “Kozak” armored vehicles. The released footage shows the vehicles that have already been delivered to the unit. The brigade noted that the vehicles will be used where troops need to move quickly, transport personnel, and deliver necessary equipment. “The vehicles are ready to go where they are needed most. More protection, more capabilities, more firepower on the battlefield,” the military reported.
This is not just ordinary transportation. The “Kozak” is an armored vehicle designed for use in combat conditions. Depending on the variant, it can perform various tasks—from transporting troops to serving as a tactical vehicle directly on the battlefield.
Why “Kozaks” Are Needed
One of the main tasks of such vehicles is to protect people while on the move. The armored vehicle can transport troops, ammunition, equipment, and other necessary cargo. Such vehicles are especially needed in situations where a regular car no longer provides sufficient protection. The “Kozak” has an armored hull, and certain variants are equipped with mine protection and special seats that reduce the impact on occupants during an explosion.
For example, the “Kozak-2M1” features STANAG 4569 Level 2 ballistic protection and Level 3a mine protection. According to the Ministry of Defense, the vehicle is designed to protect the crew and troops from small arms fire and the detonation of a mine or improvised explosive device (IED) under the wheels. At the same time, it is important to note that “Kozak” is not a single specific model. Under this name, there is an entire family of Ukrainian armored vehicles with different characteristics and purposes.
Armor and Off-Road Capability Instead of Ordinary Vehicles
The main advantage of an armored vehicle is the combination of mobility and protection. The vehicle can move quickly between positions, while at the same time providing military personnel with significantly more protection than a conventional vehicle. The armored vehicle manufacturer “Praktika” specifically emphasizes ballistic protection. This is provided by armored steel and bulletproof glass. The design of certain models also includes enhanced protection against mines and explosions.
Depending on the specific version, additional equipment and weapons can be installed on the vehicle. Therefore, the “Kozak” can be used not only as a personnel carrier but also to carry out other tactical missions. It is precisely the versatility of such vehicles that makes them essential for units that are constantly on the move and operate in challenging conditions.
The 110th Mechanized Brigade Continues to Receive Vehicles
The 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade was established on March 8, 2022. It is named after General-Horunzhy Mark Bezruchko, and in 2023, it was awarded the honorary distinction “For Courage and Bravery.” Currently, the brigade is carrying out combat missions in the Zaporizhzhia sector and in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The unit also includes a company of ground-based robotic systems, which handles some logistical tasks and the evacuation of the wounded.
The arrival of new armored vehicles is expected to enhance the unit’s capabilities in transporting personnel and equipment and carrying out other missions. For the troops, such equipment means, first and foremost, the ability to reach their destination faster and have a better chance of remaining unharmed while operating in dangerous areas. The “Cossacks” have already arrived at the 110th Brigade. The vehicles are now being prepared for deployment in areas where armor, off-road capability, and speed can be critical. In the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv, an enemy drone struck the roof of a four-story business center. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene to investigate the circumstances and address the aftermath of the incident.
