Odesa’s electric transport stops following massive attack
Odesa experienced one of the heaviest air attacks since the start of the full-scale invasion, the city council press service reports.
During the night, the enemy used strike drones against energy, transport, industrial, and civilian infrastructure. As a result, all traction substations in the city lost electricity, completely paralyzing the operation of trams and trolleybuses.
City authorities quickly organized bus replacements on key routes. For Tram No. 1, public transport services were reinforced along Prince Volodymyr the Great Avenue and Mykolaiv Road.
For Tram No. 5, one bus runs from the Railway Station to Arkadia via French Boulevard at 60-minute intervals. Similar replacements were arranged for Trams No. 18 and No. 20, with buses operating along the Grand Fountain area every hour.
Trolleybus routes were also replaced with bus services. For Trolleybus No. 8, buses on Route 208 run between the Railway Station and the Superphosphate Plant at 30–40 minute intervals. On Trolleybus No. 3, buses on Route 233 operate from “Zastava I” to Shevchenko Park every 20–30 minutes. Private carriers increased the number of buses on citywide public transport routes.
In addition, grain storage facilities in the port of Odesa caught fire following the Russian attack. A separate explosion occurred in the city center after a ballistic threat warning.
