19th EU sanctions round targets Alfa-Bank, MTS Bank, Absolut Bank and others

The EU’s 19th sanctions package bans financial transactions with Alfa-Bank, MTS Bank, Absolut Bank, and the car manufacturer Sollers, effective November 12, 2025.

Restrictions also target foreign subsidiaries of Russian banks — Alfa-Bank and VTB in Belarus, and VTB branches in Kazakhstan and Shanghai. The EU will also suspend operations of Russia’s “Mir” payment system across Europe starting November 25.

Sanctions extend to major Russian industrial and defense firms such as Rostec, KamAZ, Almaz-Antey, UAC, USC, and Transmashholding, alongside a continued ban on LNG imports from Russia until 2027, tightening pressure on Moscow’s financial and energy sectors.
