On the night of December 16, Russian occupation forces attacked the village of Velykyi Burluk in Kharkiv region, striking the local cultural center with a drone.

This building had previously sustained damage from enemy shelling, but this time the consequences were significantly more severe.

The attack caused a large fire inside the structure, with flames rapidly spreading through the interior and onto the roof.

According to the Kharkiv Regional State Emergency Service (DSNS), the fire covered an area of approximately 1,000 square meters. Due to intense burning, there was a risk of collapse of some structural elements, so rescuers operated under heightened danger conditions.

Despite the extensive destruction and fire, preliminary reports indicate that no one was injured, as the building was empty at the time of the strike.

Firefighting units from several nearby settlements were deployed to extinguish the blaze. Thirteen rescuers and three specialized vehicles worked on-site, supplying water and dismantling damaged structures.

A medical team and a community rescue officer were also on standby, ready to provide assistance in case of a secondary strike or injuries.

Russia recently attacked Zaporizhzhia with Shahed drones, hitting a residential building and injuring civilians.
