Russia shelled Sumy region more than 40 times in a day: one person killed and others wounded
From the morning of 15 January to the morning of 16 January, Russian forces carried out more than 40 attacks on the Sumy region. A total of 27 settlements in 16 territorial communities came under fire. As a result of the attacks, one person was killed and 11 others were wounded.
This was reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration on Facebook.
In the Bilopillia community, a 35-year-old man was killed as a result of guided aerial bomb strikes.
In addition, men aged 34, 46 and 48, as well as women aged 26, 36, 40, 40, 47, 53, 55 and 62 were injured.
The largest number of attacks was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.
Russian forces used artillery, mortars, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs.
In the Sumy community, a shop, a private household and a car were damaged.
In the Mykolaiv community, the premises of a shop and a medical facility were damaged.
In the Bilopillia community, a school building, a catering facility, an administrative building, apartment blocks, private residential houses, cars and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged.
In the Seredyna-Buda community, private residential houses and non-residential buildings were destroyed, and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged.
In the Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community, a private household and a car were damaged.
In the Shostka community, residential buildings were destroyed, other residential buildings were damaged, and a civilian infrastructure facility was affected.
In the Shalyhyne community, a private residential house was destroyed.
In the Esman community, a private residential house was destroyed.
In the Znob-Novhorodske community, civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged.
Over the past day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police and public organisations, evacuated 12 people from border communities.
