UAF inflicts heavy losses on occupiers: over 1,300 enemy eliminated
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported significant losses among Russian forces, which as of 16 January 2026 have exceeded 1.22 million personnel.
This figure includes both killed and wounded. Over the past 24 hours, losses have amounted to more than 1,300 personnel, along with the destruction of 180 vehicles.
Successful actions by Ukrainian troops have increased defensive effectiveness across all fronts.
The support and active combat operations of the UAF have also reduced the enemy’s combat capability. Destroyed drones have significantly limited the aviation capabilities of Russian forces.
Since the beginning of the invasion, the enemy has lost:
- 11,563 tanks (+6 in the past 24 hours)
- 23,908 armoured combat vehicles (+4 in the past 24 hours)
- 36,230 artillery systems (+48 in the past 24 hours)
- 434 aircraft and 347 helicopters
- 4,163 cruise missiles
- 1,614 multiple launch rocket systems
- 107,884 operational-tactical UAVs (+527 in the past 24 hours)
- 74,486 vehicles and tankers (+180 in the past 24 hours)
- 2 submarines and 28 ships/boats
- 1,277 air defence systems and 4,044 units of specialised equipment (+2 in the past 24 hours)
Losses and drone effectiveness
Active Ukrainian operations have significantly reduced the enemy’s reconnaissance and strike capabilities.

Destroyed operational-tactical UAVs limit the effectiveness of aviation and missile strikes against key infrastructure.
On the front, 161 combat engagements were recorded, while Russian forces have demonstrated significant activity in recent days, carrying out numerous missile and drone strikes.
