The General Staff Identifies Three Hottest Frontline Areas
On 9 March, the main combat actions occurred in the Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka, and Huliaipole directions. Overall, 47 enemy attacks were repelled on the front since the start of the day.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out four airstrikes, dropping eight guided bombs, and conducted 72 shelling attacks, including two from multiple rocket launch systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, Russian occupiers attacked towards Lyman twice; one engagement is ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, no enemy offensive actions were recorded.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three attempts by the occupiers to advance toward Stavky and Lyman.
In the Sloviansk direction, the aggressor attacked three times toward Riznykivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy conducted no offensive actions.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the occupiers carried out 10 offensive actions in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Rusynyi Yar, Sofiivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, 12 attempts were made to push Ukrainian defenders from positions in the areas of Nikanorivka, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, and toward Novooleksandrivka. One attack is ongoing.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy advanced three times in the areas of Ivanivka, Dobropillia, and Nova Zaporizhzhia. Gavrylivka and Orly were hit by airstrikes.
In the Huliaipole direction, 13 attacks occurred in the areas of Myrne, Luhivske, and toward Zaliznychne and Olenokostiantynivka. The Defense Forces repelled 11 attacks. The enemy carried out airstrikes on Lisne, Kopany, Dolynka, Hirke, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv direction, one engagement occurred toward Prymorske. Airstrikes hit Veselyanka and Prymorske.
In the Prydniprovskiy direction, the enemy conducted no offensive actions.
On other directions, no significant changes in the situation were recorded.
It is worth recalling that President Zelensky reported that this winter, the Armed Forces held all key defensive positions.
Additionally, near Kupiansk, Ukrainian forces neutralized a group of Russian soldiers who were attempting to mine a road.
