Latvian Foreign Minister condemns Russia’s Christmas attacks on Ukraine
Latvian Foreign Minister, Baiba Braže, strongly reacted to the overnight Russian attacks on Ukraine and called on the international community to increase pressure on the aggressor state.
In her post on X, she commented on a message from Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, who reported another attack and shared photos of its aftermath.
“Russia spreads terror, war, death, and destruction while the world peacefully celebrates Christmas. The Kremlin’s atrocities—strikes on residential areas and energy infrastructure, injuries and deaths of civilians—are evident to all. Much stronger pressure on Russia is needed to stop this,” Braže emphasized.
In Kyiv, on December 27, another massive Russian strike occurred. Since nighttime, the enemy used nearly 500 drones, a large number of Shahed drones, and 40 missiles, including Kinzhal missiles. The main targets were the capital’s energy and civilian infrastructure.
The Russian terrorist attack on Kyiv lasted almost the entire night. Damage was recorded at multiple locations across seven districts of the capital.
