The Main Intelligence Directorate confirmed a strike on the oil complex in the port of Ust-Luga
On the night of August 31 to September 1, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the “Novatek-Ust-Luga” complex in Russia’s Leningrad Oblast. Ukrainian intelligence reported that key oil facilities had been destroyed.
The operation took place on the night of August 31 to September 1. The complex is located in the Russian port of Ust-Luga and is of critical importance to the Russian Federation’s oil infrastructure.
According to Ukrainian officers, the strike was carried out by operators from the Ministry’s Department of Active Operations and Department of Unmanned Systems as part of Operation Deepstrike, conducted jointly with the Defense Forces.
“Key elements of the oil refinery and process equipment were struck—a massive fire broke out at the plant, which is supporting the criminal war against Ukraine,” the Main Intelligence Directorate concluded.
Earlier, it was reported that on the night of September 1, drones attacked the port area of Ust-Luga (Leningrad Oblast).
“As a result of the UAV attack, damage was recorded in the port area of Ust-Luga, and a fire has broken out,” said the region’s governor, Oleksandr Drozdhenko.
This was reported on the Main Intelligence Directorate’s official Telegram channel.
As a reminder, a fire broke out at the port of Ust-Luga following the drone attack.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, a fire broke out in a non-residential building as a result of a Russian drone attack. Emergency services are on the scene, dealing with the aftermath of the strike.
In Kyiv, rescue workers extinguished a large-scale fire that broke out in the Holosiivskyi district following a Russian attack on the morning of August 30. The fire engulfed a non-residential building covering an area of approximately 3,000 square meters; there were no casualties or injuries.
