Callas Will Propose New Sanctions Against Russia Following Attacks on Sloviansk and the Kyiv Region
Kaja Kallas, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, stated that she would propose additional sanctions against the Russian Federation—the aggressor state—following Russian strikes on Sloviansk and the Kyiv region.
In a post on social media platform X, Kallas also stated that Russia’s ambassador would be summoned in response to the strikes. According to her, Russia’s indiscriminate attacks on Kyiv and other regions are causing civilian casualties “deliberately, not accidentally.”

Separately, the EU’s top diplomat mentioned the strike on the Latvian Honorary Consulate in Sloviansk. She said this “underscores Moscow’s complete disregard for international law.”
Kallas noted that she will propose additional sanctions targeting the Russian military-industrial complex. According to the latest reports, five people were killed and nine others were injured as a result of Russian guided airstrikes on Sloviansk. In the Kyiv region, 10 people were killed and about a hundred were injured. According to “European Truth,” the target of the Russian attack was an arms exhibition.
