Map of Combat Operations in Ukraine and Key Developments on the Front Lines as of June 23
As of June 23, 2026, intense fighting continues on several fronts in Ukraine, including the eastern and southern fronts. Ukrainian defense forces are holding key positions, while Russian troops continue their assaults and attempts to advance, according to data from military assessments and monitoring projects.
Over the past 24 hours, the Defense Forces’ air force, missile forces, and artillery struck 11 areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, four artillery systems, and three UAV command posts.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, two clashes with the enemy occurred over the past day; the aggressor carried out 69 shelling attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas, including two using multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS).
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our units 12 times in the direction of the settlements of Vilcha, Kozacha Lopan, Symynivka, Pokalyane, Bochkove, Kolodyazne, and in the area of the settlement of Starytsia.


In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy launched two attacks toward Kucheriivka and Hlushkivka.
In the Lyman sector, the enemy attempted to breach our defenses 20 times, attacking in the areas of the settlements of Novoselivka, Novomykhailivka, and Kopanky, as well as toward Borova, Drobyshove, Ozernoye, Lyman, and Dibrova.
In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy launched 16 assaults near Riznykivka, Kaleniky, and Zakytne, as well as toward the settlements of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kryva Luka.



In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupiers launched a single attack near the settlement of Nikiforivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the enemy carried out 14 attacks near the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, and Sofiivka.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the invaders carried out three assaults in the areas of Sichneve, Verbove, and Novoye Zaporozhye, but were repelled.


In the Huliaipole sector, the occupiers carried out 22 attacks in the areas around the settlements of Dobropillia, Zlagoda, Olenokostyantynivka, and toward Huliaipole, Hirky, Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, Staroukrainka, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv sector, our defenders halted the enemy’s attempt to advance in the Stepove area.
In the Dnipro direction, the enemy did not conduct any offensive operations.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups have been detected, according to the General Staff.



According to the NYT, Russian troops have intensified massive strikes on cities in the so-called “belt of fortresses” in Donetsk Oblast, particularly Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, in an effort to wear down Ukrainian defenses and strengthen their control over the region.
On the night of June 23, Russian troops struck Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding area, causing fires and damage to civilian infrastructure. Among the damaged facilities were a private home, a car repair shop, and a gas station, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
