Kremlin says it has not seen reports of possible new U.S. sanctions against Russia
The Kremlin claims that it has not yet received official information about U.S. plans to impose new sanctions on Russia.
This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian leader, commenting on publications in Western and Russian media.
According to him, Moscow is closely monitoring statements from Washington, but so far sees no clear signals of new restrictive measures.
Peskov noted that the Kremlin “is aware of the general intentions of the Americans” to prepare another sanctions package, but has not yet received official notifications or specific documents.
He emphasized that any sanctions from Washington create additional tension in international relations and “do not contribute to the normalization of dialogue.” At the same time, the Kremlin representative acknowledged that Russia is preparing for any possible developments.
According to Peskov, Moscow expects to receive more detailed information from the U.S. regarding the results of negotiations with European allies and Ukraine, which currently influence the formation of a coordinated Western sanctions policy.
Peskov said that the Russian authorities are closely monitoring U.S. actions, particularly in the defense, energy, and finance sectors, where restrictions could severely affect key Russian companies.
It is worth noting that the U.S. is preparing new sanctions against Russia if the Kremlin refuses a peace agreement.
Additionally, former U.S. President Donald Trump announced an address to the nation.
