In the occupied town of Oleshky in the Kherson region, local residents find themselves in a humanitarian trap and are forced to eat weeds from their gardens due to a lack of food, while also suffering from a lack of electricity, gas, water, and medicine.

The occupiers are blocking evacuations, continuing shelling, and attacking civilians with drones. Stores in the city are closed, and doctors at the only hospital are forced to amputate the limbs of patients with mine- and explosive-related injuries due to a lack of medication. In addition, Russian military personnel are complicating the burial of deceased residents by demanding additional inspections and documents.

Because of the infrastructure destroyed after the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant was blown up, people are cooking food over open fires in their yards and making do with the remaining vegetables, supplementing their diet with wild herbs.
