The Russian Ministry of Defense cynically justifies the massive strike on Kyiv

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has officially confirmed that it carried out a massive combined strike against Ukraine on the night of July 2

Despite numerous reports of damage to residential buildings and civilian casualties in the capital, the occupying authority, as usual, claimed that the targets of the attack were exclusively military infrastructure.

The Russian side cynically called this massive shelling a “response” to the Kyiv regime’s alleged “terrorist attacks” on civilian targets in Russia.

In its statement, the aggressor reported the use of high-precision, long-range air-, sea-, and land-based weapons, as well as strike drones.

According to the ministry’s statement, the attack in Kyiv and the surrounding region allegedly struck military-industrial enterprises and facilities of the fuel and energy complex.

In addition to the capital, Russia claims that infrastructure facilities at military airfields in a number of other regions of Ukraine were targeted.

In particular, the statement notes: “In response to the Kyiv regime’s terrorist attacks on civilian infrastructure on Russian territory, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a massive strike using high-precision, long-range air-launched, ground- and sea-based weapons, and strike unmanned aerial vehicles, as a result of which military-industrial enterprises and facilities of the fuel and energy complex in the city of Kyiv and the Kyiv region were struck, as well as the infrastructure of military airfields in the Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions.”
