Moscow has set a condition for a ceasefire

UA NEWS 10 August 2026 11:40
Moscow has set a condition for a ceasefire

Russia refuses to agree to a “freeze” on the war against Ukraine without addressing the so-called “root causes” of the conflict. Moscow claims that a cessation of hostilities is allegedly impossible without fulfilling this condition.

This statement was made by Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation.

“As Russian President Vladimir Putin has said repeatedly, no ‘freeze’ is possible without addressing the root causes of this crisis,” Galuzin stated.

In addition, the Russian diplomat began to claim that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “has lost all touch with reality” and is, he said, “trying to escalate the conflict.”

Against this backdrop, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister decided to complain about the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strikes on Russia’s energy infrastructure.

Moreover, Galuzin began pleading with the West for a “response” to the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ successful precision strikes.

“We hope there will be an adequate response from the international community, particularly from the U.S. and European countries that have influence over the Kyiv regime,” the Russian diplomat added.

He also noted that he considers the U.S.’s actions regarding Ukraine to be “contradictory.”

“The ongoing supply of American weapons to the Kyiv regime, the provision of intelligence data, and other forms of assistance speak for themselves and are inconsistent with the pursuit of peace,” Galuzin lamented.

As a reminder, a Russian attack on the Poltava region damaged a gas station and a business.

As a reminder, on Friday, August 7, in Dnipro, a World Health Organization humanitarian warehouse was destroyed as a result of an attack. There were no people on the premises at the time of the strike, and no casualties were reported.

Over the past 24 hours, the occupiers lost 1,130 troops and more than 400 pieces of military equipment.

In the Kherson region, one person was killed and two were wounded as a result of Russian shelling.
