A conflict broke out in the Cherkasy region between company employees and the Trade Union Committee
On June 8, a clash broke out in the Zvenyhorodsky District of the Cherkasy Region between representatives of the district territorial recruitment center and employees of a local company. According to law enforcement officials, a criminal investigation has been opened into the incident under the article on unlawful deprivation of liberty. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is currently underway.
“During the conflict, participants used a gas canister and fired a starter pistol. A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident. The incident occurred on June 8 at one of the enterprises in the Zvenyhorod district. According to preliminary data, a conflict arose between the enterprise’s employees and representatives of the RTCC, during which one of the men used a can of pepper spray,” the statement reads.
As noted, one of the participants in the conflict fired a shot into the air from a starter pistol. RTCK employees took one of the men away from the scene.
A criminal case has been opened regarding this incident under Part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—unlawful deprivation of liberty or kidnapping.
The Cherkasy Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense Matters is overseeing the pre-trial investigation. Currently, police are conducting the necessary investigative actions and interviewing witnesses and eyewitnesses to the incident.
Meanwhile, a video has been circulating on social media that likely captures the moment the TCC employee fired the shot.
