62 combat clashes recorded on the front in a single day
As of 04:00 p.m. on December 9, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recorded 62 combat clashes along the front line.
The greatest activity was observed in the Pokrovsk and Oleksandrivka directions.
This was reported in the General Staff’s update.
Northern sector
Today, communities in the settlements of Zarichchia in the Chernihiv region and Bezsalivka, Volfyne, Studenok, Malushyne, and Ryzhivka in the Sumy region came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
In the Northern–Slobozhanske and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out one airstrike, dropped one guided aerial bomb, and conducted 50 shelling attacks, including one using a multiple-launch rocket system.
Kharkiv region
In the Southern–Slobozhanske direction, Defense Forces repelled one enemy attack near Prylipka.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions.
Eastern sector
In the Lyman direction, the invading army launched eight attacks on Ukrainian positions near Hrekivka, Novyi Myr, and Myrne, as well as toward Stavky and Drobysheve. Five clashes are ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, Russian forces attempted five times to advance toward Ukrainian positions near Yampil and Serebrianka. The Defense Forces have already stopped three enemy attacks; fighting continues.
In the Kramatorsk direction, one combat clash is currently underway near Chasiv Yar.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy tried nine times to break into Ukrainian defenses near Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Ivanopillia, Rusyn Yar, and toward Sofiivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian occupiers have made 19 attempts to push Ukrainian forces from their positions near Ivanivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Hryshyne, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Dachne, and toward Novopidhirne. The Defense Forces are holding back the assault and have already repelled 16 attacks.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 enemy assault attempts. The enemy is trying to advance near Zelenyi Hai, Yalta, Vorone, Vyshneve, Rybne, Yehorivka, and toward Danylivka. Four clashes are ongoing.
Southern sector
In the Huliaipole direction, eight clashes occurred near Zatyshshia, Huliaipole, and Bilohiria. Two combat clashes are still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv and Prydniprovsk directions, no clashes have been recorded at the moment.
The Economist believes that Russia has lost up to 1% of its male population killed in the war against Ukraine.
