Over the past 24 hours, 267 combat engagements were recorded on the front lines between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Russian occupation forces. Although the intensity of fighting has decreased slightly compared to the previous day, the situation in certain areas remains extremely tense.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its morning update as of 08:00 on May 29.

More than a quarter of all combat engagements took place in these specific sectors of the front.
According to the General Staff, Russian forces actively used aircraft, artillery, and attack drones.
Over the past 24 hours, the occupiers:
launched one missile strike;
carried out 86 airstrikes;
dropped 269 guided bombs;
deployed 7,881 kamikaze drones;
carried out 2,806 shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.
In particular, 77 shelling attacks were carried out using multiple launch rocket systems.
Russian aircraft struck the following areas:
Mala Slobidka
and Nova Sloboda in the Sumy region.
The General Staff also reported that Ukrainian missile forces and artillery destroyed one enemy artillery system over the past 24 hours.
In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions over the past day, five combat engagements took place; the enemy carried out seven airstrikes, dropped 15 guided bombs, and fired 99 rounds at the positions of our troops and populated areas, including three using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy stormed the positions of our units nine times in the areas of the settlements of Starytsia, Prylipka, Veterinarne, Shevyakivka, and Lyman, as well as in the direction of the settlements of Izbytske and Ternova.
In the Kupiansk direction, our defenders repelled seven enemy attacks in the areas of Kivsharivka, Petropavlivka, Pishchane, and Kupiansk.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 13 attempts by the invaders to advance toward the settlements of Hrekivka, Makiyivka, Novomykhailivka, Lyman, Drobysheve, and Dibrova.
In the Sloviansk direction, over the past 24 hours, our defenders repelled four attempts by the occupiers to advance in the areas of the settlements of Rai-Oleksandrivka, Zakytne, and Riznykivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, our defenders repelled three enemy attacks in the areas around the settlements of Tykhonivka and Markove.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the enemy carried out 16 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Ivanopil, Berestok, Rusyno Yar, and Stepanivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders repelled 46 assaults by the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Vilne, Novyi Donbas, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Shevchenko, Pokrovsk, Bilytske, Hryshyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filiya, and Novopavlivka.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy launched two attacks in the areas of the settlements of Sichneve and Zlagoda.
In the Huliaipole sector, the occupiers carried out 32 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Myrne, Dobropillia, Vozdvizhivka, Hirke, Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, Rybne, Tsvitkove, Staroukrainka, Verkhnia Tersa, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attempted to advance twice near the settlement of Shcherbaky.
In the Dnipro direction, Ukrainian units repelled one enemy attack near the island of Bilohrudy.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of enemy offensive groupings were detected.
The Ukrainian military released updated data on Russian army casualties. According to the General Staff, Russian troops lost 960 personnel over the past 24 hours. Total Russian losses since the start of the full-scale invasion, according to Ukrainian estimates, have exceeded 1.36 million troops.
