52 combat engagements recorded on the front in one day
Since the beginning of the day, 52 combat engagements have been recorded on the front between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Russian troops. The most intense fighting is taking place in the Kostyantynivka direction.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 04:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19.
The Russian army shelled border communities of the Sumy region with artillery, including Volfyne, Ryzhivka, Rohizne, Bezsalivka, Iskryskivshchyna, and Boyaro-Lezhachi.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, one combat engagement occurred; the enemy carried out 57 shellings of AFU positions and settlements.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, Ukrainian forces repelled five attacks near Vovchansk, Prylipky, and in the direction of Izbytske. In the Kupiansk direction, the Russians tried to break through toward Pishchane.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted three attacks near Druzhliubivka, Lyman, and Shandryholove, with one battle still ongoing. In the Sloviansk direction, two attacks were repelled near Serebrianka, and one engagement is still not finished. No battles were recorded in the Kramatorsk direction.
The highest enemy activity was recorded in the Kostyantynivka direction, where Russian troops carried out 15 assaults in the areas of Kleban-Bik, Oleksandro-Shultyno, and toward Pleshchiivka, Novopavlivka, Ivanopillia, and Sofiivka. Three combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the occupiers tried ten times to push back Ukrainian units near Rodynske, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, and in the direction of Novopidhorodne, but without success.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the Armed Forces repelled seven assaults in the areas of Pryvilne, Zlahoda, and in the directions of Rybne, Oleksandrohrad, and Novo Zaporizhzhia, with two battles still ongoing. Pidhavrilyvka was hit by a guided bomb airstrike.
In the Huliaipole direction, three attacks were repelled near Huliaipole and in the direction of Dobropillia, with two combat engagements still active. Russian aviation struck Huliaipole and Vozdvyzhivka.
No combat engagements were recorded in the Orikhiv and Prydniprovsk directions.
Additionally, operators of the unmanned systems battalion of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, known as the “Steel Lions,” demonstrated in their video the situation in Lyman, Kramatorsk district, posting footage on the social network Telegram.
The most difficult situation on the front remains in the Pokrovsk and Kupiansk directions.
