74 clashes recorded on the frontline in 24 hours
Since the start of Wednesday, 21 January, 74 combat engagements have been recorded along the frontline, with the most intense activity on the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole axes, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) as of 04 p.m.
Enemy Shelling
Today, communities near border settlements came under enemy artillery fire, including Ryzhivka, Kucherivka, Rogizne in Sumy region, and Klyusy in Chernihiv region.
Fighting in the North
On the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk axes, the enemy carried out 42 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and nearby settlements since the start of the day.
Fighting in Kharkiv Region
On the South-Slobozhansk axis, six enemy attacks were reported near Dvorichanske and in the directions of Izbytske, Hrafske, and Kruhle. One engagement is still ongoing.
On the Kupiansk axis, the enemy attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses seven times, targeting settlements including Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Krylivka, and Bohuslavka. Three engagements are still ongoing.
Fighting in the East
On the Lyman axis, the invaders launched six attacks in areas near Novomykhailivka, Drobysheve, Yampil, and towards Lyman and Novosergiivka.
No clashes have been recorded on the Sloviansk axis so far.
On the Kramatorsk axis, Ukrainian units repelled an assault near Stupochky.
On the Kostiantynivka axis, the enemy conducted five assaults in the area of Pleshchiivka and towards Kostiantynivka and Ivanopillia.
On the Pokrovsk axis, Russian forces made 26 attempts to push back Ukrainian defenders near Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filya, and towards Serhiivka and Novopidhorodne. Two engagements are ongoing.
On the Oleksandrivka axis, the enemy tried to breach defenses near Zlahoda, Yehorivka, and towards Novyi Zaporizhzhia. Ukrainian forces repelled three assaults, and Velykomykhailivka was struck by a guided bomb airstrike.
Fighting in the South
On the Huliaipole axis, defenders repelled 19 attacks in the area of Huliaipole and towards Dobropillia and Varvarivka. Guided bomb airstrikes hit Verkhnya Tersa, Zaliznychne, and Vozdvyzhivka.
No clashes have been recorded on the Orikhiv and Prydniprovsk axes, but settlements including Yulivka and Rozumivka suffered airstrikes.
