Fierce Fighting Continues for Stepnohirsk in the Orikhiv Direction — Defense Forces
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces attempt daily to push Ukrainian units out of Stepnohirsk; however, the Defense Forces conduct counterattacks and prevent the enemy from consolidating positions.
This was reported on air by the spokesperson of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.
According to him, intense combat occurs in Stepnohirsk every day.
“In Stepnohirsk, we record fierce engagements daily because the enemy is trying to push us out. In turn, we conduct counterattacks and repel the enemy,” Voloshyn noted.
The spokesperson added that Ukrainian troops are preventing the enemy from securing the area known as the “Rhomb,” which contains multi-story buildings.
“We are driving them out of there; clearing operations are ongoing,” he emphasized.
Voloshyn also said that Russian units are attempting to enter Stepnohirsk from the east — from the settlements of Pavlivka and Lukhianivske.
The situation remains difficult on the western approaches to the city — in the areas of Plavni and Prymorske — where the enemy is trying to advance toward Stepnohirsk and establish positions in the local buildings.
Despite the intense attacks, Ukrainian forces continue to repel the enemy and carry out counterattacks, not allowing them to secure this direction.
It is worth recalling that President Zelensky reported that this winter, the Armed Forces held all key defensive positions.
Additionally, near Kupiansk, Ukrainian forces neutralized a group of Russian soldiers who were attempting to mine a road.
