Massive fires at industrial facility in Poltava region extinguished after Russian attack
In the night of March 8, Russian occupation forces launched a large-scale attack on the Myrhorod district of Poltava region, targeting an industrial enterprise.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS).
As a result of the strikes, several large fires broke out on the facility’s territory.
The situation was complicated by the fact that, while firefighters were operating, the enemy continued to attack the location using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Despite the constant threat of renewed strikes, units of the State Emergency Service were able to quickly bring the fire under control.
Over 130 firefighters and 41 units of specialized equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences.
A modern robotic system played a key role in extinguishing the fire, allowing risks to personnel to be minimized in dangerous zones.
In parallel with the firefighters, DSNS sappers and National Police specialists inspected the site for unexploded ordnance.
In addition to security forces, equipment and personnel from Naftogaz were involved to stabilize the situation at the enterprise. Through joint efforts, all explosive objects were neutralized.
It should be recalled that Russians attacked energy infrastructure in Sumy region, leaving parts of the region without electricity.
Russian drones also attacked an industrial facility in Poltava region.
