26 shelling attacks recorded in Sumy region in one day — one killed

In the Sumy region, Russian forces shelled 26 settlements over the past day, resulting in one civilian death, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported on Facebook.

Border communities were hit by artillery, mortars, grenade launchers, and explosive devices dropped from drones. The attacks deliberately targeted residential infrastructure, putting civilians in deadly danger.

The most intense shelling occurred in the Seredyno-Budska, Krasnopilska, Druzhbivska, and Yunakivska communities, where shells landed on the outskirts of settlements and near residential buildings. One local resident was killed when enemy munitions hit their area.

In addition to human casualties, homes, utility buildings, and civilian infrastructure were damaged. Some residents were left without electricity or with destroyed property. Emergency services and municipal workers are responding to the damage.

Investigators and explosives experts are working on-site to document Russian war crimes and collect evidence for future legal proceedings.

As a reminder, the number of casualties in Zaporizhzhia increased after Russian attacks, and there was widespread destruction. Russian forces also again attacked the DTEK power station.
