Naftogaz reported 13 Russian attacks on its facilities over the past week
The Russian Federation—the aggressor state—launched 13 missile and drone attacks on facilities belonging to Naftogaz of Ukraine over the past week, the company reported. Since the beginning of the year, Russia has attacked its facilities nearly 300 times. The latest strikes caused significant damage to equipment and production facilities, though no one was injured.
Ukrainian officials say Russia is trying to use the coming winter as a tool for pressure. The energy company DTEK also reported a Russian attack that caused a fire at one of its mines. A 52-year-old man was killed.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released photographs showing the aftermath of the strike on the Kamensk Plant in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Rostov Oblast, Russia. According to the General Staff, on the night of August 16, two workshops producing rocket fuel and explosives were destroyed, and four others were damaged.

The Kamensk Plant is part of the Russian military-industrial complex. It produces solid rocket fuel for ammunition used in the “Uragan,” “Smerch,” and “Tornado-S” multiple launch rocket systems, as well as for a number of other missile systems and aviation munitions.
Meanwhile, the organizers of the “Spasskaya Tower” military-music festival, which was supposed to take place on Red Square, have postponed the event until next year. This happened after Ukraine attacked Russia with a record number of drones. On Sunday night, Russian authorities also reported new drone attacks on Moscow and the temporary suspension of operations at Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky airports.
