Ground drone evacuates soldier from Vovchansk

In the Kharkiv region, a ground robotic drone helped evacuate a Ukrainian soldier from the Vovchansk area. The soldier, named Vladyslav, had been at his position for 275 days. The operation was complex, as he was located extremely close to Russian forces’ positions. Despite this, the evacuation was successfully carried out.

The 57th Separate Motorised Infantry Brigade reported that four attempts were made to evacuate the soldier.

“He was approximately ten metres from the enemy. The brigade decided to carry out the evacuation using a ground drone,” the brigade said.

On 17 December, the drone crew began the fourth attempt to evacuate the nearly immobile soldier from his position.
During the initial hours of the operation, the rescue drone became trapped in a deep mine crater covered with snow.
Mortar crews positioned nearby came to assist, helping to push the drone out of the crater.
After this, the drone was able to reach the position near the building where the soldier was located.

Following the evacuation, the soldier was taken to a stabilisation point, where he received the necessary medical care.

It is noted that such operations are not uncommon.
Azerbaijan presented the latest strike drones at an exhibition in Riyadh.
