Unknown drones attacked an oil refinery in Russia

On the night of December 17, a new series of drone attacks was recorded in Russia.
This was reported by Russian Telegram channels.

One of the main targets of the strikes was Slavyansk-on-Kuban in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, where, according to preliminary data, a fire broke out in the area of an oil refinery. Local residents reported hearing explosions that lasted for an extended period of time.

The first reports of explosions in the Slavyansky district appeared around 12:45 a.m. Witnesses said they heard a series of loud blasts, after which a glow from a fire was visible in the sky.

Later, videos were published online which, according to their authors, show an attack by unknown drones on a facility resembling an oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban. The footage also shows intense flames, confirming the scale of the fire.

Approximately an hour and a half before the events in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, information appeared about explosions in other Russian regions. Social media users and public channels reported the sounds of strikes in Saratov, Engels, and near Yeysk.

Residents there also wrote about air defense systems being active and characteristic sounds resembling the flight of drones. At the same time, it has not yet been specified which exact facilities may have been targeted in these cities.

Earlier, as a result of a drone attack on Moscow, airports were shut down.
