Russia's daily casualties reached a record high in 2026 — General Staff
Over the past 24 hours, on September 16, the Ukrainian military eliminated 1,960 Russian occupiers. This is the highest daily casualty figure for the Russian Armed Forces in 2026, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As of September 17, Russia has lost the following in the war against Ukraine:
- personnel—approximately 1,513,490 (+1,960) individuals;
- tanks – 12,346 (+1);
- armored combat vehicles – 25,345 (+6);
- artillery systems – 49,863 (+43);
- multiple-launch rocket systems – 2,139 (+7);
- air defense systems – 1,645 (+3);
- aircraft – 442 (+0);
- helicopters – 356 (+0);
- ground-based robotic systems – 2,644 (+14) units;
- operational-tactical UAVs – 520,508 (+1,439) units;
- cruise missiles – 5,111 (+0) units;
- ships/boats – 35 (+0);
- submarines – 2 (+0) units;
- Vehicles and tanker trucks – 150,018 (+461) units;
- specialized equipment – 4,697 (+5) units.
