Night-time Russian attack: 138 drones launched at Ukraine, 110 destroyed
Russian occupying forces launched a large-scale drone assault on Ukraine on the evening of 25 January.
This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A total of 138 attack UAVs were used, mainly Shahed and Gerbera-type drones, launched from six directions: Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from temporarily occupied Donetsk region.
Ukraine’s air defenders — including aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups and UAV operators — actively countered the attack. As of 08:00, air defence forces had destroyed or suppressed 110 enemy drones, with the main efforts focused on the northern and eastern regions.
However, 21 drones managed to break through and strike 11 locations, causing localised damage. Debris from downed drones also fell at one additional site. The attack is ongoing, with isolated enemy UAVs still detected in the air, so Ukrainians are urged to continue following safety guidelines.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated more than a thousand occupiers in the past day.
In addition, in the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian forces destroyed an enemy artillery gun using FPV drones.
