The Netherlands allocates €250 million to Ukraine for F-16 ammunition
The Dutch government announced a €250 million allocation for the purchase of ammunition for F-16 fighter jets from the United States.
This was stated by Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte (Dick Schoof in your text may refer to another official) during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
He emphasized that this funding will be another contribution from the Netherlands to strengthen Ukraine’s air capabilities in its defense against Russian aggression.
According to Rutte, providing Ukrainian pilots with F-16 ammunition is critically important for the success of the overall aircraft delivery program. The Netherlands had previously financed F-16 ammunition purchases, and the current €250 million represents an additional, reinforced contribution in this area.
He highlighted that partnership with the United States in defense procurement allows Ukraine’s armed forces to be supplied quickly with necessary munitions, including air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles, as well as other weaponry essential for effective F-16 operations.
Such measures, he noted, increase Ukraine’s ability to defend its airspace and deter Russian strikes.
