Shelling of Sumy region border areas continues: nearly 60 strikes recorded
Over the past day, from the morning of 11 January to the morning of 12 January, Russian forces carried out nearly 60 strikes on the territory of Sumy Region, affecting 33 settlements across 13 communities.
This was reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka districts, where the enemy активно used artillery, drones, and aerial strike weapons.
The enemy once again employed guided aerial bombs, strike UAVs, and FPV drones, causing significant damage to civilian facilities.
In the Krasnopillia community, shells hit an infrastructure facility, while in the Bilopillia community a passenger car was damaged.
The Mykolaivka settlement community also came under heavy attack, with private homes and residents’ vehicles damaged.
In the Sumy community, a passenger car was destroyed by shell fragments. In the Shostka community, damage was recorded to residential and non-residential buildings, civilian infrastructure facilities, private vehicles, and a tractor.
As a result of the enemy attacks, civilian infrastructure suffered damage. Local authorities continue to document the destruction in order to assist residents in restoring their homes and equipment.
It is recalled that the occupiers attacked Lymany three times using FPV drones.
Russia has also once again attacked Ukraine’s railway infrastructure.
