Occupiers kill their own soldiers with FPV drones when they try to surrender

In the Russian army, soldiers attempting to surrender to Ukrainian forces continue to be killed. New cases have been recorded on the Dobropillia direction.

This was reported by National Guard serviceman Stanislav “Osman” Bunyatov.

According to him, the Russian army uses this method to minimize attempts by their troops to be captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“On the Dobropillia direction, they are killing their own soldiers with FPV drones as they move toward our positions unarmed and try to surrender,” the report says.

Total combat losses of Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine — from February 24, 2022, to January 4, 2026 — amount to approximately 1,211,530 personnel, including about 900 over the past day.

As of 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, 104 combat engagements had taken place along the entire front line, while Russian forces continued intensive shelling of border regions and positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 46 attacks by Russian occupiers and eliminated more than 200 enemy troops on January 2. Fighting continues in the areas of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, where Ukrainian units control key positions and destroy enemy equipment.
