During an attack on the Odesa region, a Russian missile strayed into Moldova
For the second day in a row, Russian forces launched a massive strike on the Odesa region, using missiles and drones. During the attack, one of the Russian “Banderol” missiles crossed Ukraine’s state border and entered Moldovan territory.
According to preliminary data, the missile may have flown approximately 35 kilometers over the territory of the neighboring country.
Air defense systems were active in the region during the attack. Some of the Russian drones were shot down, and their debris fell into the Black Sea.
At the same time, a strike on a private residential building was recorded. As a result of the strike, the roof was completely destroyed and a fire broke out. The shock wave also damaged neighboring buildings. Information about possible casualties is being verified, and relevant services are working at the scene.

Separately, the Air Force reported that a Russian “Banderole” missile flew out of Ukrainian airspace toward the Republic of Moldova. According to preliminary data, it penetrated nearly 35 km into the territory of the neighboring country. Information regarding the possible consequences of the Russian missile’s presence in Moldovan airspace is currently being verified.

Romania has confirmed that the downed Shahed drone was of Russian origin.
As a reminder, on July 24, a Romanian Air Force F-16 fighter jet shot down a drone that had entered the country’s airspace for the first time. The incident marked the first combat use of a Romanian F-16 against an intruding drone.
On the afternoon of July 23, an air raid alert was declared in the Romanian county of Tulcea, which borders Ukraine, due to a Russian attack on the Odesa region.
Four NATO fighter jets were scrambled in response to a drone over Romania.
