During Russia's attack on Ukraine, drones flew into Moldova on several occasions
On the morning of September 24, drones violated Moldova’s airspace several times. This occurred during Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine.
Moldova’s Ministry of Defense reported at least four drones that violated the country’s airspace. This occurred during Russia’s attack on Ukraine, specifically on the Odesa region.
At 5:21 a.m., a border patrol spotted an unidentified object flying from the direction of the village of Velyka Koshnitsa in Ukraine’s Vinnytsia region toward Vasilkeu in the Soroca district. It subsequently left Moldovan airspace.
06:14–06:16 — A drone crossed the border from the direction of Kelimentsi in the Chernivtsi region of Ukraine toward Larga in the Briceni district, and two minutes later returned to Ukrainian airspace.
06:35 – Another object entered Moldovan airspace from Transnistria in the Vinnytsia region, heading toward Volovitsa in the Soroca district.
At 06:45, residents spotted it over the Florești District: it was traveling along the route Gura-Keinarului – Lungă – Bahriștești – Gura-Camenchi.
06:58 — A drone flew from the direction of Kodima in Vinnytsia Oblast toward Sokoly in the Transnistrian region. At 07:11, it disappeared from surveillance systems near the village of Kunichya in the Kamenskyi District.
For safety reasons, the airspace in northern Moldova was temporarily closed. At 07:46, it was reopened.
The police also received two reports of sounds resembling explosions. Around 07:45, a resident of Vadul-Rashkov in the Sholdanesh district heard them. According to preliminary data, the sounds may have come from Kamianka on the left bank of the Dniester. Another report came from the vicinity of the village of Chernitsa in the Florești District.
