Over 100 drones attack Ukraine overnight, some fail to be intercepted
Russian forces carried out a large-scale overnight strike on several regions of Ukraine, deploying more than a hundred attack drones. Most of the aerial targets were destroyed by air defense forces, although some drones reached their targets.
This was reported, citing Telegram updates from the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“On the night of March 20, the enemy attacked with 156 strike UAVs, including Shahed-type drones, as well as Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of drones, launched from eight directions. Around 90 of them were Shahed drones,” the Air Force said.
According to the report, the air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
Preliminary data as of 08:00 indicates that 133 enemy UAVs were shot down or neutralized by air defense systems.
Hits by 19 attack drones were recorded across 13 locations, as well as debris from downed drones falling in seven locations.
“The attack is ongoing, with several enemy UAVs still in the airspace. Please follow safety rules,” the Air Force added.

Russian forces continue to carry out daily drone and missile attacks against Ukraine.
