Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander missile and nearly 100 drones — air defense shot down most of them
On the night of December 26, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine using one Iskander-M ballistic missile and 99 attack drones. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 73 of them.
This was reported on Telegram by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the military, from 6:00 p.m. on December 25 until the morning of December 26, Russian forces attacked with one Iskander-M ballistic missile launched from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, as well as 99 attack drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other UAV types from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske (Crimea). About 60 of them were Shahed drones.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 09:00, air defense shot down or suppressed 73 enemy drones of the Shahed and Gerbera types, as well as other UAVs, in the north, south, and east of the country.
Hits by the ballistic missile and 26 attack drones were recorded at 16 locations.
