Leonid Brezhnev's great-grandson was captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kherson region

The great-grandson of Leonid Brezhnev, the former General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, was reportedly taken prisoner by Ukrainian forces during the war against Ukraine.

According to Russian media reports, 45-year-old Anton Milaev—who is said to be the great-grandson of Brezhnev’s daughter Galina Brezhneva—signed a contract with the Russian army last fall and served as a sapper.

Reportedly, the man stopped communicating with his family as early as November. Subsequently, his mother, Irina Kuznetsova, received information that her son was being held captive in the Kherson region, which is under Ukrainian control.

According to Russian sources, Anton Milaev is the adopted grandson of Galina Brezhneva, who raised him as her own. After beginning his service with the Russian military, he served as a sapper.

Relatives claim that after losing contact with him, they received word that he was being held captive by Ukrainian forces.

This is reported by Russian media.

Earlier, Ukrainian defenders captured a 20-year-old Russian soldier named Alexander, who belongs to the Dolgan people—an indigenous, small Turkic ethnic group of the North.

Earlier, drone operators from the Ukrainian Defense Forces spotted three Russian soldiers and, using a drone, forced them to lay down their weapons. The released footage shows the occupiers emerging from a forest strip with their hands raised, demonstrating their willingness to surrender voluntarily.
