President Zelenskyy says Russia is preparing a new massive strike — NDTV World
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Russian Federation, an aggressor state, is preparing a new massive attack against Ukraine. As NDTV World reports, he wrote about this on Telegram after a meeting with UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian intelligence has information that Russia is preparing a new large-scale strike. He also said that Ukraine is in constant contact with its allies regarding the receipt of additional air defence equipment.
Sanctions and attacks
The president stressed that easing sanctions against Russia cannot be a subject of discussion while Ukrainians face the threat of missile and drone attacks every day.
According to the publication, Russian forces had long carried out large-scale nighttime attacks using missiles and drones, but in recent weeks changed tactics and began striking during the day. Moscow has also used jet-powered drones in recent months, which fly at higher altitudes and can bypass air defence systems.

Meetings in New York
During his stay in New York, Zelenskyy discussed efforts to end the war with US President Donald Trump, including a possible bilateral halt to strikes on energy facilities.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Zelenskyy said that, in his view, Vladimir Putin is neither winning nor losing the war and therefore does not feel the need for direct negotiations to end it. He also noted that Russian society is losing people.
NDTV World writes that Russian troops are advancing slowly in Donetsk Oblast, while the front line has seen minor changes for many months. Ukrainian forces, for their part, are striking targets in Russia, including those linked to the oil industry.
